Crunchy, chewy or whichever way you like them, this selection of paleo granola bars or muesli bars (in OZ speak) will give you lots of ideas and inspiration. I am covering various dietary needs, with and without nuts, low-fructose, protein-rich, and keto.
Everyone loves a good granola bar. You might also call them muesli bars or lara bars. They’re nutrient-dense, easy to make and can be used as a quick breakfast on the run or as a high-energy snack. Plus, granola bars are super lunchbox friendly.
In today’s roundup, I’ve put together a list of my favourite, paleo granola bars including nut-free, keto and low-fructose options. Actually, you can make most of these recipes nut-free by replacing nuts with seeds and, as usual, I recommend using activated nuts to reduce the amount of phytic acid and make them easier to digest.
1.Paleo Protein Muesli Bars
These are protein-rich muesli bars I often make for pre- and post-workout fuel. They’re pretty dense and filling and I often took them to the gym and on hiking or climbing trip. Recipe from my blog here.
2. A CHEWY WINTERTIME PALEO GRANOLA BAR
This gingerbread inspired paleo granola bar recipe is from Barefoot Girl. Running half the nuts, seeds, and fruits in this recipe through a food processor yields a chewy texture in the finished product. And leaving the other half simply chopped up keeps the necessary crunch you look for in a granola bar.
3. KETO GRANOLA BARS
This EASY, Sugar-Free Keto Low Carb Granola Bars Recipe is only 7 simple ingredients and tastes like an Almond Joy! Kids or adults will LOVE these healthy granola bars! Recipe from Food Faith & Fitness.
4. CHEWY GRANOLA BARS
A paleo take on the traditional chewy granola bar recipe – includes instructions on how to activate nuts to eliminate the phytic acid. Uses activated nuts, not baked. Recipe from Paleo Leap.
5. TASTIEST GRANOLA SNACK BARS
Baked! You can easily adapt this recipe for crispy granola snack bars by using whatever dried fruit, nuts and seeds take your fancy. Recipe from Petite Kitchen.
6. CRUNCHY CHERRY PISTACHIO GRANOLA BARS
Salty pistachios and tart cherries are a fun flavour combination for these easy granola bars from Paleo Grubs. They are also easily adaptable to different tastes. Whichever minor tweaks you may make, granola bars are a great source of natural energy to snack on throughout the day.
7. Seedy PALEO Bars
Paleo-friendly seedy bars, which are somewhere between granola bars and sesame snaps. These are nut-free and vegan friendly so all-around a total crowd-pleaser kind of snack. Recipe on my blog here.
8. Nut-Free Paleo Chewy Granola Bars
These chewy granola bars are nut-free and perfect for kids lunch boxes; omit the chocolate chips to reduce the content of refined sugar. Recipe from The Paleo Mom.
9. APRICOT COCONUT LEMON BITES
Here is a great little snack you can take with you wherever you go. They are a delicious sweet treat made with dried apricots, shredded coconut, coconut butter and the rind of one lemon. So simple, easy and fast to make! Recipe from Living Healthy With Chocolate.
10. Raw FRUIT N’ NUT BARS
Everyday Paleo has shared her take on the Lara Bar – try these chewy raw fruit and nut bars in three different flavours: apricot, spice, and coconut-cherry. Recipe from Sarah Fragoso.
11. RAW CASHEW COOKIE LARA BARS
