For a quick lunch or kid-friendly meal, try making mini pizza using English muffins or mini naan breads. We love Hawaiian pizza, so I made these mini pizzas with ham and pineapple, and a little diced jalapeno for a spicy twist. These mini pizzas are kid-friendly and great for using up leftover ham.

Recipe Overview
If you’re craving pizza but don’t want to commit to ordering takeout or making dough from scratch, try this mini pizza recipe. I had leftover baked ham from another shoot, so decided to make Hawaiian-style ham and pineapple pizza.
I decided to test two bases: English muffins and mini naan bread (store-bought). Your choice will depend on what you have available but I really liked these as bases. I probably preferred the naan bread for extra chewiness and thinner base, more similar to regular pizza, but the kids might like the English muffins more.
Speaking of kids, making mini pizza is really for them. They love food in small packages (I do too!) and you can get them involved in spreading tomato sauce and putting the toppings. These mini pizzas are great for school lunches.

Ingredients
Here is what you need to make this mini pizza recipe:
- For the bases: for a small, easy-to-pick-up, mini pizza, I tested English muffins (halves) and mini naan breads. The naan bread can be found in the Asian/Indian section of the supermarket. The mini breads are already pre-cooked and sold in a packet of 5-10. You can also sometimes find them in a bread section. Many stores will sell mini pizza bases, so those are great too.
- For pizza sauce: plain tomato passata/sauce, garlic and onion powder, Italian herb blend (or Italian seasoning), and salt. For a spicy kick, I added some finely diced jalapenos, which you might want to omit for kids.
- Toppings: I used leftover baked ham, grated cheese (mix of Mozzarella and Cheddar) and diced pineapple (you can use fresh or canned, whatever you have). If you don’t love pineapple on pizza, make up your own topping combination.
How To Make Mini Pizzas
Find the full list of ingredients, nutritional info, and instructions in the recipe card below. Here are some step-by-step pictures to guide you along.
- Step 1. Preheat oven to 210 C / 410 F (regular). Prepare a flat baking tray/sheet pan, lined with parchment paper. Make sure the oven is well-heated before baking the pizzas.
- Step 2. Combine sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
- Step 3. Pre-toast the English muffins, use the lowest setting. This will make the muffin halves more stable and prevent them from getting too soggy from the tomato sauce. You don’t need to toast the naan breads.
- Step 4. Dice ham and prepare cheese and pineapple.
- Step 5. Assemble the pizzas. Place English muffin halves or naan breads on the sheet pan. Spread tomato sauce and top generously with cheese. Place a few pieces of pineapple and ham on top.
- Step 6. Bake in the oven, middle shelf, for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and browned.
